Chris Malkinson is a versatile UK professional pianist with a wealth of experience playing for weddings, private parties, and corporate events.
Chris is available for any celebration in the south east of England and the Midlands.
Chris Malkinson started learning classical piano at the age of 7, and his subsequent interest in jazz, pop and rock music prompted him to study at Leeds College Of Music. After graduating in 1984, he worked in a variety of musical situations as keyboard player, pianist, and arranger. He was keyboardist and assistant musical director on the first UK tour of ‘What a Feeling’ with Irene Cara in 1996, and shortly after became a founder member of top band 'Groovin’ High', backing Tony Hadley and appearing with Bryan Adams. As a solo pianist, Chris performed on leading cruise liners QE2 and Oriana, and held long standing residencies at The Savoy Hotel in The Strand, and Sopwell House in St. Albans.
Chris plays for many private parties and corporate events at top London venues such as The Berkeley, The Wallace Collection, and V & A museum. He regularly entertains at Searcy’s restaurant on the top floor of the ‘Gherkin’ building in the city.
Chris has recently played at events for Sir Alan Sugar, The Russian Embassy, The Bishop Of St Albans, and The New England Patriots. He is currently resident pianist at Marcus Wareing's 'Gilbert Scott' restaurant at St Pancras. Chris also plays keyboards with Andrea Bocelli on his last five UK tours - taking in The O2 Arena, Manchester MEN, Liverpool Echo Arena and Belfast Odyssey.
